Dear students,

We are pleased to welcome you as an Master of Public Policy (MPP) student. Students praise the high-caliber, student-oriented MPP faculty who come from different backgrounds and are experts in different policy subfields, but we have one trait in common: we share a deep sense of responsibility for equipping our students with the tools needed to be successful.

You will develop a deep understanding of the development and effects of public policy, the use of quantitative analysis, the role of economic factors in public decision making, resource allocation, and decision modeling. Your courses will stress the research, analysis and evaluation of various public issues (e.g., social, global, economic, health) to develop effective policy solutions.

MPP coursework involves 48 credits, including require core courses, concentration or specialization classes, and an internship or practicum for pre-service students. It typically takes two years to complete, but could be done in 18 months. Careers may be developed in the public, nonprofit or private sector in roles such as consulting, teaching, research and policy/program/project evaluation.

We are delighted that you are joining us!

Best regards,

The faculty and staff of the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program
